A Crisis in the Making - Freelandopps vs. EvoCash
Thousands waiting for answers
Written by e-Told.org
Before you read this report it is important to realize that information has
been read and dissected at many locations. Staff has opted to stay clear of all
the rumors and concentrate on the information in hand.
This report is not designed to prove who is a scam or who is a liar. Those
quotes and comments are for public forums. This report is based on the
information we have collected, interviews with the disputing parties and our
experiences in this arena. The purpose is to decide who is at fault and who if
any one has committed wrongdoing.
The year 2004 has brought the high yield investment arena many programs. We
have seen many come and go. But no program has been as active as Freelandopps.
When Freelandopps first made its presence known on or around January 15, 2004
many did not realize what to expect in the future. The Admin of Freelandopps is
named Xavier. It is not known if Xavier is the real name of the Admin or
something that the program opted to cook up prior to the release of the program.
For the majority of the time, most investors in this arena join programs and
have been blinded by promises. Freelandopps has made many statements and has
come through on most regarding the operation of the program. The program
boasted that they had purchased numerous servers so that downtime would be
minimized. They purchased a full line of domains so that people would never
have a problem reaching the web site. It looked like a professional
organization securing their fate in an arena that was used to failure and
disappointment.
What has been discovered since the X-Changers' announcement on Friday August
27, 2004, will shock many while others will wonder if they have made a
disastrous mistake in trusting their gold with this program.
For those who have been following Freelandopps since the program first made its
appearance, you are more than likely aware of the past problems the program had
with e-Gold, e-Bullion, and VirtualGold. These problems have now happened at
EvoCash as well.
According to information received, e-Gold.com has in the past imposed credit
limits on Freelandopps accounts. This is usually done when one of the
following happens at e-Gold.com.
1] The accountholder has not fully completed information in the account details.
2] Other accountholders using e-Gold accounts are contacting e-Gold support
requesting information regarding that specific accountholder.
3] If excessive traffic through the account, which basically means a higher
than normal volume of gold being deposited in the account.
ALL gold providers have a level of security active when their system is being
used. Providers have the need to log all IP addresses that are used when
entering their system. We all know how a setting must be set on your e-Gold
account to allow for multiple IP address to access an account or only one IP
address for tighter security.
This process of security can not be done with the present system imposed in the
Freelandopps system. The tunneling software used in the Freelandopps system is
not allowing EvoCash or any other gold provider's security to be used
correctly. This is one of the reasons why e-Gold, e-Bullion, VirtualGold and
now EvoCash have asked to terminate services to Freelandopps. More will be
explained later in this report.
When the news regarding Freelandopps started to unfold last Friday,
e-Bullion.com
was contacted with a request from e-Told to respond to some concerns that have
been presented to staff on practices committed by Freelandopps. It was also
asked as to why e-Bullion opted to request Freelandopps to cease using the
e-Bullion system.
The response from e-Bullion was one that was expected but considering the
situation we had hoped for something. Here is e-Bullion's response from Michael
Singleton who is in the Operations department.
Thank you for writing, however, as I am sure you can understand. Policy
prohibits us from public-comment regarding any current or previous e-Bullion
account-holder (or their activities), as that would violate the acct-holders
Privacy.
Thanks again for your time and consideration.
Regards,
Mike Singleton Operations
Since e-Bullion will remain silent based on their policies, procedures, and
terms of service the following information can not be verified. But if you look
at the past history of how Freelandopps has found it necessary to change
providers on a regular basis, you will see that there must be some truth to the
madness found in this high yield investment arena.
You may remember when the Admin of Freelandopps sent out an announcement
regarding a cap on the amount you can withdraw on a weekly basis. This started
a string of negative comments in public forums that has not let up for the last
month.
Xavier's announcement regarding a cap on withdrawals of $1,000.00 per week per
account brought some investors to start thinking that there was trouble
brewing. Although this announcement could have been taken as a red flag, to
most investors a cap was something they would never be close to, so many did
not worry. Most withdrawals were reported as less than the cap allowed.
You may call the following information as found through the grapevine. The
reason, the person who supplied the information wants to remain anonymous at
this time. This information should be considered as coming from a trusted
source in this arena. The main concern this person has with Freelandopps is how
the program seems to have manipulated the weekly cap.
It was discovered August 28 that at times requests were made through
Freelandopps member's accounts for much larger withdrawals well in excess of
the weekly cap. The amounts that were being requested to be are said to have
been five digit amounts.
The real concern is, if there is a cap of $1,000.00 weekly on withdrawals then
whose accounts were these large out-exchanges sent to? If members are being
capped, then likely these large transfers were being sent to accounts either
owned by traders or buyers or were personally owned by the Freelandopps Admin
under different names.
IT has been told to e-Told staff that in a one-week period in June this year,
Freelandopps managed to move up to $2 million from e-Bullion accounts. Do not
ask for proof, there is none. Like many of the rumors out there, this could be
considered the same. The only difference is this came from a trusted source in
the arena, and was proven as true later in this report.
It is now known that the hard work of Freelandopps staff and their hired help
who administer their forums have done a great job at convincing many to invest
larger than normal funds into this program. It has been discovered that some
have mortgaged their homes to invest in this program. Others are known to have
siphoned their retirement saving into Freelandopps.
One comment from one source, claims that the Freelandopps program
"is not your standard HYIP, this is more like Costa Gold, possibly the same
people, or like EZbucks."
The source went on to state that
" this is big bigger than anything recently, we are talking about MILLIONS and
not 1 or 2."
It is estimated that the amount of gold invested into Freelandopps might be as
high as $10 million!
Once e-Bullion had chased Freelandopps away and requested that they not use
e-Bullion, Xavier needed to find another location to handle out-exchanges. That
brought VirtualGold into the picture. At the time that Freelandopps began to
use VirtualGold, the gold provider was considered to be new.
Within 30 days of the announcement that VirtualGold was the program's new
provider, VirtualGold had stopped out-exchanging Freelandopps and halted use of
the account. At that time Marco was away on a business trip and there was a
72-hour period that Freelandopps' staff were in defensive mode at the program's
forum. Once Marco returned the account was reset. Freelandopps dealings with
VirtualGold ended around July 24th.
With VirtualGold ending their relationship with FLO, it left Xavier the need to
find yet another provider to handle the traffic. EvoCash has been a force in
the eCurrency since 2001 with what most consider an adequate track record. No
complaints of real substance have ever made their way to the e-Told Reports.
The recent problems between out-exchanging EvoCash for Freelandopps have
created a different approach for FLO staff.
When this story broke on August 27 you may remember that EvoCash had asked
exchangers to hold off doing large exchanges for Freelandopps members, it
brought out one public comment that seems to have triggered a snowball effect.
